A native son of Arkansas, Cliff Sward was born in Little Rock and raised in Mountain Home. He graduated from Mountain Home High School and spent a year in Germany as an exchange student before going on to college. Cliff graduated from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in German language and literature before earning his Juris Doctor from the William H. Bowen School of Law in Little Rock. He has been happily married to his wife Susie since 1995 and is the proud father of a daughter.
After graduating from law school in 2002, Cliff secured a clerkship with the Honorable Robert L. Brown, Associate Justice on the Arkansas Supreme Court. During his tenure as Justice Brown's clerk, Cliff honed his legal skills and his understanding of the law. Then, from 2003 to 2007, Cliff worked as a litigator with the Arkansas Municipal League, primarily dealing with civil rights litigation in addition to land-use and city ordinance issues. Along the way, Cliff got licensed to practice in all Arkansas state courts, Arkansas federal courts, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
In May 2007, Cliff established the Sward Law Firm, realizing his longtime goal of going into solo private practice. The Sward Law Firm is a general legal practice serving a variety of legal needs, from criminal defense to civil lawsuits, divorces and family law issues.
Cliff brings small-town values along with his knowledge and experience of the world to his practice of the law to give his clients the personalized and professional legal representation they deserve.
